uPVC Windows and Doors Prices in India: A Complete 2026 Guide

By Riyom Global Solutions · Updated 26 October 2026 · 9 min read

If you are planning new windows or doors, the first question is almost always the same: what will uPVC cost? The honest answer is "it depends", but not in a vague way. A few clear factors decide the price, and once you know them, you can read any quotation with confidence.

The short answer

For mid-range uPVC windows, public 2026 price guides put the supply cost at roughly ₹600 to ₹900 per sq ft before GST, with budget products starting lower and premium or custom systems above ₹900. Double glazing, the window type, hardware and installation then add to that. A worked example is further down.

Are you looking for cheap, or for value for money?

A very low price per square foot is rarely a bargain. When a quotation is far below the rest, something has usually been reduced: thinner profile walls, no steel reinforcement, basic hardware, single glass, or little after-sales support. You may not see the difference on day one, but you will in year three.

A better question is: what will this window cost me per year of good use? A slightly higher price for a properly made frame, good glass and reliable hardware often works out cheaper over time. Here is how a cheap window can end up costing more:

  • Warping and sagging when the frame is thin or not properly reinforced.
  • Hardware that fails: handles, hinges and rollers that stiffen or break within a few years.
  • Poor sealing, which lets in dust, noise and rain, and wastes air-conditioning.
  • Repairs and early replacement, with nobody to call when something goes wrong.

What decides the price of uPVC windows and doors

1. Profile quality

The profile is the frame itself. Wall thickness, the number of internal chambers, and the quality of the uPVC compound all affect strength, insulation and how long the frame keeps its colour. Steel reinforcement inside larger frames keeps them straight. Better profiles cost more to make, and it shows in the result.

2. Glass

Glass is often the biggest single cost driver. Moving from single glass to toughened, double-glazed (DGU), Low-E or laminated acoustic glass can raise the price noticeably, but it is also what controls heat, noise and safety. Choose glass for the room: a bedroom on a busy road and a store room do not need the same thing.

3. Type of window or door

Fixed windows are usually the simplest and cheapest. Sliding windows come next, then casement. Tilt & turn, large sliding doors and slide-and-fold systems use more hardware and are priced higher. The way a window opens also affects ventilation, cleaning and how much space it needs, so do not choose on price alone.

4. Hardware

Handles, hinges, locks, rollers and friction stays are what you touch every day. Good multi-point locking and quality hardware cost more, and they are worth it on windows that open often.

5. Size, height and site conditions

Large openings need stronger frames, and higher floors need more care and sometimes extra equipment to install. Poorly finished wall openings, new openings or removal of old windows add work.

6. Installation and support

Even the best frame performs badly if it is fitted badly. Proper measurement, sealing and adjustment, plus a clear warranty and someone who answers the phone, are part of what you pay for.

Average uPVC window prices in India (2026)

These are indicative market ranges collected from public price guides, shown per square foot of window area, before 18% GST. They are meant to help you plan. They are not Riyom Global quotations, and real prices depend on the profile, glass, hardware and your location.

Window typeSupply price per sq ft
Fixed (picture) window₹450 to ₹700
Sliding window, 2-track₹500 to ₹850
Sliding window, 3-track with mesh₹600 to ₹950
Casement window₹650 to ₹1,000

Glass upgrade (added per sq ft)Extra cost
Toughened glass+ ₹120 to ₹250
Double glazed unit (DGU)+ ₹250 to ₹500
DGU with Low-E coating+ ₹400 to ₹700
DGU laminated or acoustic+ ₹500 to ₹900

Added over a single-glass window, before GST.

By tier, these guides generally describe budget products at around ₹450 to ₹600 per sq ft, mid-range at ₹600 to ₹900, and premium or custom systems at ₹900 to ₹1,500 and above. Doors, especially large sliding, lift-and-slide or folding systems, are priced higher than windows because of the glass size and hardware.

Installation is usually quoted separately by the market at about ₹30 to ₹65 per sq ft, or roughly ₹800 to ₹2,200 per opening, for labour alone. Civil work, finishing and removal of old windows are extra.

A worked example

Take a 4 ft Ă— 4 ft (16 sq ft) 2-track sliding window with double glazing, using the market ranges above:

ItemApproximate cost
Frame supply: 16 sq ft × ₹500 to ₹850₹8,000 to ₹13,600
Double glazing: 16 sq ft × ₹250 to ₹500₹4,000 to ₹8,000
Installation: 16 sq ft × ₹30 to ₹65₹480 to ₹1,040
Subtotal before GST₹12,480 to ₹22,640
With 18% GST₹14,726 to ₹26,715

Illustrative, based on public market ranges. Not a Riyom Global quotation.

So a typical window of this size lands somewhere between about ₹15,000 and ₹27,000 including GST, and glass choice can move you around inside that range more than anything else. For a quick estimate with your own sizes and window types, try our Window & Door Cost Estimator.

Costs people forget to ask about

  • GST (18%), which is often left out of the headline rate.
  • Mosquito mesh, which may be an extra on some systems.
  • Civil work and finishing: plastering, sealing and waterproofing around the frame.
  • Removal and disposal of old windows, if you are replacing them.
  • Floor height and access, which can add labour or equipment cost on upper floors.
  • Transport to your site.

How to compare uPVC quotations properly

Two quotations that look the same on price can be very different products. Ask each supplier to put these in writing:

  1. The profile system and brand, and the wall thickness of the frame.
  2. Whether the frames have steel reinforcement and where.
  3. The glass specification: thickness, and whether it is toughened, double glazed or Low-E.
  4. The hardware brand and the type of locking.
  5. Whether the price includes installation, GST, mesh and transport.
  6. The warranty and who provides service afterwards.

If you already have quotations in hand, our quotation comparison tool helps you line them up side by side.

uPVC vs aluminium: what about the cost?

uPVC is generally the more affordable of the two for standard windows, and it is a strong choice where you want sealed, low-maintenance frames and good insulation. Aluminium costs more, but its strength allows slimmer frames, larger glass areas and bigger openings. The right choice depends on the room and the look you want, not only the price. Frequently asked questions

What is the cost of uPVC windows per square foot in India?

Public 2026 guides put mid-range uPVC windows at roughly ₹600 to ₹900 per sq ft before GST, with budget products lower and premium systems higher. Glass, window type and hardware change the final price.

Is uPVC cheaper than aluminium?

For standard windows, usually yes. Aluminium costs more but offers slimmer frames and suits larger openings. The best choice depends on your room, budget and design.

How long do uPVC windows last?

A well-made uPVC window that is properly installed and looked after can last many years. Frame quality, hardware and installation matter more than the material name. Ask your supplier for the warranty in writing.

Does double glazing add a lot to the cost?

It adds to the price, often more than any other single choice, but it also improves heat and sound control. For rooms facing the sun or a busy road, many people find it worthwhile.

Is installation included in the price?

Not always. Some suppliers quote supply and installation separately, and civil work is often extra. Always ask for a written quotation that says exactly what is included.

Can I get a price for my own windows?

Yes. Use our cost estimator for a quick range, or book a free consultation and site survey for an exact quotation.
