Results

Peak velocity pressure
– kN/m²
Basic wind speed– m/s
Basic wind pressure– kN/m²
Exposure factor–
Town correction factor–
Wind force on area– kN
How this is calculated

Basic wind speed: vb = v_map × (1 + 0.001 × altitude)
Basic pressure: qb = ½ ρ vb² with ρ = 1.226 kg/m³
Exposure factor: ce(z) = cr(z)² × (1 + 7·Iv(z)) using a log-law wind profile, where the terrain roughness blends from sea (z₀ = 0.003 m) to open country (z₀ = 0.05 m) with distance from the coast.
Town correction: ratio of the exposure factor with urban roughness (z₀ ≈ 1 m) blended in over the distance inside town, to the open-country value.
Peak velocity pressure: qp = ce × cT × qb
Force: F = qp × Cf × A

Important: this is a simplified estimate based on the European method (EN 1991-1-4). It is not based on Indian standard IS 875 (Part 3) and must not be used for design. Results can differ from IS 875 calculations. Please have a qualified structural or façade engineer verify wind loads for your project.
